Tell us about the attack
I was walking my dog along with my baby sister in a stroller. We turned to walk down a back alley to get home when suddenly 2 vicious pit bulls slipped under a gate and immediately started mauling my dog, puncturing her lung and killing her and also causing my sister to fall out of her stroller and hit her head, bruising it badly and causing scratches down her arm as a result of the stroller being knocked over.

How has your life changed as a result of the attack?
My dog meant the world to me and my family. She was my first pet and brought so much happiness. I am traumatized and truly hurt seeing her go out that way. Everyday I think about her and miss her so much. If she wasn’t there to protect us we would have been dead or seriously injured. She is a true hero and will never be forgotten.

Legal Consequences
Absolutely no action was taken in this situation. Police said there was nothing they could do. The pit bulls were immediately taken and hidden to avoid consequence. The pit bulls still live in that house and the gate hasn’t been fixed. We haven’t even received an apology from the pit bull owners.

What would you like people to know as a result of your attack?
Please always keep a weapon on you whenever you’re walking. Something strong enough to kill because once pit bulls latch onto their victim they will not let go. Please be safe…
