Tell us about the attack

When I was just five years old I was outside on the front porch of the mobile home we lived in during my childhood and i was just playing there while my mother and father were painting, then a white pit bull dog came up on the porch to where I was and sat next to me and so I began to pet it on top of its head, and without warning it attacked me! Next thing I knew I was on the ground with it on top of me and it had bitten me several times already and my parents were able to knock it off the porch somehow and save me. My mother dragged me into the house and as soon as i was in it i let out a blood curdling scream! I was bloody hurt and terrified! I was unable to cry or even scream while i was being attacked and i was frozen with fear and I will never forget it!

How has your life changed as a result of the attack?
It left me very scared of big dogs and it also affected how i feel about dogs in general. It is just something I will never ever forget and if my testimony can help others i will gladly tell people to never adopt a pit bull to be a pet! They are dangerous and unpredictable and not everyone who gets attacked will be as lucky as i was. It truly is not worth the risk!

Legal Consequences
The pit bull that attacked me was put down as a result of attacking me, as for the pit bull owner I honestly do not know what happened?

What would you like people to know as a result of your attack?
I want people to know that being attacked by a pit bull usually results in death. I just happened to be very lucky my parents were around. Someone may not always be there to save you should you be the victim of a pit bull attack. This is why it is so important to just never adopt one to begin with.
