Tell us about the attack

My daughter was playing in a park in the village of Symerton. A neighbor’s pit bull was running loose with no supervision. The animal ran up to her and right away attempted to bite her upper thigh. He didn’t break the skin, though, and she was able to push him off her while running away. My husband was there and threw stuff at it to distract it and get it away before it could do much worse. She has a large bruise and the pit bull’s teeth left scrapes.

How has your life changed as a result of the attack?
My daughter is scared of going to the park and terrified of dogs now.

What would you like people to know as a result of your attack?
Pit bulls should have more restrictions and the police need to take these bite attacks more seriously. It has been two days and the owners of the pit bull still have not got a ticket and animal control has not seized their animal.
