Tell us about the attack

On the night of March 17th, 2021, I was taking my dog Leah for our nightly walk. At the corner of Cascade Street and Belltower Street, a big light brown pit bull viciously attacked my dog. I tried my best to defend my dog, by punching, kicking even hitting the pit bull with its own collar, but it did not release my dog until a man came out. At that point, the pit bull released and the man chased the pit bull away. At that moment, I did not see where the pit bull went, but another man came out, helped me with a towel, and told me the pit bull came out from the house next to him on Cascade Street and that man was the owner, after he told me he did not know where they came from. My neighbor also showed up in a bike and later I found out that pit bull belongs to his mother.

How has your life changed as a result of the attack?
I can’t sleep, all I see is that demon pit bull attacking my Leah.

Legal Consequences
Owners are hiding the pit bull. I’m working with Animal Control and the city of Deltona.

What would you like people to know as a result of your attack?
Be very vigilant with your dogs. Do not trust anyone, dog nor human…. Carry a weapon specially at night. [Editor: Check with local authorities on the legalities for the jurisdiction you live in.]
