Tell us about the attack
A pit bull mix from a rescue shelter grabbed my granddaughter by the shoulder and pulled her off the swing. I threw myself on top of my granddaughter but the pit bull grabbed her face and would not let go. I screamed to God to help us. She survived with over 100 stitches to her face, shoulders and arms.

How has your life changed as a result of the attack?
The horror will not leave my thoughts and probably never will. Tears flow when I relive this horrific mauling.

The pit bull was put down.

What would you like people to know as a result of your attack?
Please look up the origin of the pit bull. This breed was man made to fight and kill. It was a sport that people bet money on. The aggressive nature of the bull dog is in their genes. DO NOT TRUST THIS BREED.
