Tell us about the attack

Unprovoked attack by 120lb Great Pyrenees with history of aggressive behavior. Dog lunged at me while I was sitting at my friend’s dining room table. Dog knocked me down onto the floor and then pinned me to floor attempting to bite me. Dog had medical cone collar on which prevented bites. I had no lacerations or broken bones but was serverely bruised.

How has your life changed as a result of the attack?
End of 40 year friendship with dog’s owner who could not admit her poor judgement in not restraining dog. She could not accept responsibility for the harm caused by the dog. No apology. Defensive about dog. Eventually was convinced by her grown daughters to put the dog down.

Severe emotional trauma. Sought professional help regarding flashbacks.

Legal Consequences
I chose not to pursue legal action.

What would you like people to know as a result of your attack?
Not everyone loves dogs. That doesn’t mean they are bad people.

Some people have history of trauma as a result of attacks.

Dogs with even one incident of aggressive behavior towards a human resulting injuries should be euthanized.

People are more valuable than animals.
