Tell us about the attack

Two weeks before my birthday, I was attacked by two loose pit bulls.

I had gone for my evening exercise walk and was about two blocks from my home when two vicious pit bulls jumped on me, knocked me down, and started chewing on my head, arms, and legs. I was absolutely mauled. The entire attack lasted 15 minutes.

How has your life changed as a result of the attack?

I’ve received three surgeries to date. I’ve struggled with anxiety, panic attacks, and depression as a result of the pit bulls attacking me. I lost my job because I physically was unable to perform the physical duties anymore.

Legal Consequences

The owner of the pit bulls had to surrender the animals. They were euthanized because even the animal shelter deemed them too aggressive and dangerous.

I hired a lawyer and sued the owner of the pit bulls and won the case.

What would you like people to know as a result of your attack?

Be aware of your surroundings; pit bulls are everywhere now. It is never a bad idea to carry a weapon to protect yourself when you are alone. Be thankful for every breath you have. Life is precious.
