National Pit Bull Victim Awareness (NPBVA) represents victims, groups and individuals dedicated to putting an end to the attacks, suffering, and loss of life of both people and animals by pit bulls in North America. We believe breed specific legislation (BSL) is the most effective strategy to solving this issue.

CORE GOALS
* Education and Awareness
To inform the general public about the pit bull crisis in America today, and to increase awareness of the related scope of issues in the United States and Canada.
* Outreach and Advocacy
To offer comfort to victims of pit bull attacks; to advocate for community safety and awareness of the potential danger of pit bull-type dogs; and to support the goals and projects of our Partners and Friends.
* Legislation and Advocacy
To be pro-active in supporting breed-specific legislation; to ask the media in the United States and Canada for increased coverage of issues related to pit bull attacks and breed-specific legislation (BSL); to ask public and government figures to take action to support our goals.
CORE VALUES
We value the voices and the memories of victims as we work towards resolution of issues that created the circumstances that allowed them to be injured or killed.
We value victims and their families for their courage, their insight and their unique experiences with events we consider tragic.
We actively and mindfully advocate for victims and their families and support them through a network that hears their concerns. We do not tolerate misleading, negative, or abusive comments on our website, Twitter or Facebook pages about victims, our organization or our partners. We strive to remove all such material as we become aware of it.
We stand with PETA in advocating for mandatory spay-neutering of all pit bulls in the United States and Canada.
