Uphold dangerous dog destruction order for dog that killed Janet D’Aleo

Please uphold the destruction order of Annie Hornish’s dangerous dog, “Dexter”.

Her vicious dog brutally mauled her mother’s lifelong friend, 95-year-old Janet D’Aleo, to death.

This was a level 6 bite, out of 6, on the Dunbar dog bite level chart [ http://apdt.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/ian-dunbar-dog-bite-scale.pdf ]: “Victim Dead. The dog is extremely dangerous and mutilates. The dog is simply not safe around people. I recommend euthanasia because the quality of life is so poor for dogs that have to live out their lives in solitary confinement.”

The previous owner had the dog on anxiety medicine, and the dog had a bite history prior to this mauling. It clearly lacks bite inhibition. Here is the whole history, as documented by the non-profit dogsbite.org: [ https://blog.dogsbite.org/2019/11/elderly-woman-dies-after-dog-attack-suffield-connecticut.html ]

Dexter should be humanely euthanized to protect the public. The D’Aleo family has requested for Dexter to be humanely euthanized. It would be unconscionable not to follow their request since it was their family member killed by this dog. It is difficult to imagine that this has even been a topic of debate.
